Cookie & Local Storage Policy
This policy explains the browser storage used by BankRanking Europe and how we would handle analytics or marketing technologies if they are introduced later. The present build does not activate Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or BankRanking-controlled advertising cookies.
What is stored today
The site currently uses a small browser-side preference record to remember your cookie-setting choices. It is stored through localStorage, which is technically different from a cookie but is covered by this policy because both involve storing or accessing information on a user's device.

No first-party analytics or marketing tracking in this build
GA4 and equivalent BankRanking-controlled analytics are not active in the present build.
Meta Pixel and equivalent BankRanking-controlled behavioural advertising technologies are not active.
BankRanking does not currently create behavioural advertising profiles from on-site browsing activity.
The interface already separates strictly necessary, analytics and marketing categories so future non-essential tools can be added only with the appropriate controls.
If non-essential tracking is introduced
Where applicable, analytics or marketing storage that is not strictly necessary should not be activated before the user has been given clear information and an appropriate opportunity to consent. Withdrawal should be as easy as giving consent, and changing Cookie settings should remain available after the initial choice.
EU guidance distinguishes storage that is strictly necessary for a service requested by the user from non-essential tracking. Strictly necessary technologies can be treated differently from analytics or advertising technologies, but users should still be told what they do.
External bank and affiliate websites
BankRanking contains outbound links to banks, financial institutions, regulators, research sources and, where applicable, affiliate networks. Once you leave bankranking.eu, the destination website may use its own cookies, tracking technologies or consent platform. Those technologies are controlled by the destination website, not by BankRanking Europe, and are governed by that site's own notices.
Your controls
You can reopen BankRanking's Cookie settings at any time. You can also clear local storage and cookies using your browser settings. Clearing browser data may reset interface preferences.
Browser controls can also block or delete cookies more broadly, but doing so can affect functionality on other websites you visit.
Adding analytics, advertising or affiliate technology
If BankRanking activates a new technology that changes the information stored on or read from your device, this policy and the cookie-preference interface should be updated before or at the time the technology is deployed. Where consent is required, the relevant technology should remain inactive until that choice is made.
